I’m Alexandra, a full-time working mama of two with a penchant for fashion, travel and home interiors.
Having worked in the luxury retail industry all my career, currently as Buying Director for AlOthman Fashion, I consider myself an expert in my field and am one of the lucky few who can genuinely mean it when I say “I Love My Job”!!
Styling clothes, shoes and accessories have become my creative outlet and method of self-expression.
During my career I have been fortunate to meet some of the fashion world’s greatest designers, curating and buying their collections for the numerous retailers I have worked for including Harrods, Boutique 1 and Gucci.
The excitement that builds prior to every buying campaign and fashion show never falters. I wait with anticipation for what the designers will present for the following season and enjoy ear marking the pieces that I will be adding to my wardrobe.
There have been numerous times over the years that I have contemplated starting a blog but fears of failure, criticism, the pressures of creating content with a valid point of difference and ultimately not having the time to focus have all held me back.
In recent weeks, however, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has made me think that there is no time like the present. It has taught me that life is too short and no matter how you plan for the future things can change in an instant and suddenly out of no fault of our own we are powerless over the situation.
Bill Cunningham once said “fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life” which seems so apt during the lockdown and social distancing that has been forced upon us to save each other.
I am making a pact with myself to rise like a phoenix out of my most recent uniform of gym wear into daily outfits that empower and motivate me to seize the day, focus on the health and well being of myself and my family and look forward to the day when we can all welcome back the freedom of movement we all took for granted only mere weeks ago.
Today you will find my weekly posts here on the blog with daily updates over on my Instagram.
I hope that you will join me on this journey and that you find the content a moment of welcomed distraction from the stresses of juggling it all in this jungle that is life!!
